CMP Targets at Petrarca Range

Thank you for another successful year at Petrarca Range. Our Range is NOW CLOSED until SPRING 2020. We hope to see you on the firing line soon.

The CMP is pleased to announce our newest addition--CMP Targets at Petrarca Range--located at Camp Perry in Port Clinton, Ohio. This range features new electronic rifle targets, marketed by CMP Targets, with hardwired technology provided by Kongsberg Target Systems (KTS) on Petrarca Range at Camp Perry.

Our range includes 10 rifle targets set up at 100 yards. Though our targets are positioned at 100 yards, for those interested in short-range zeroing, our electronic scoring system can add difficulty by accurately simulating 200, 300 and 600 yards. Benches are available for sighting in your rifles. We allow ammo no larger than .30-06 to be fired and no 300 Win Mag ammo or armor piercing ammo. Visitors must bring their own firearms and we have a selection of ammo available for purchase. For any additional questions, please contact Mike Conrad at [email protected].

A new CMP Petrarca Monthly .22 Bench League is now available during open range hours. Visit for more information.

The range is scheduled to be open several Mondays for Open Public Shooting, where only a small fee of $10 per hour ($25 for 3 hours) will be required to fire upon some of the most advanced marksmanship technology available today.

Camp Perry is located on the shores of Lake Erie, only six miles west of Port Clinton on State Route 2. The entrance to Camp Perry is marked by its signature stone towers.

KTS Electronic Targets work through the power of acoustics – “hearing” the shot and accurately determining its location. With extensive use by ranges in 30 nations for over 20 years by Kongsberg Target Systems and even more experience received in-house by the CMP, the accuracy of these electronic targets is unlike anything else in the United States. The CMP is proud to share with its loyal customers and competitors these targets that are certain to be known as the way of the future.
